⭐ In the 1960s, I wore beads, Nehru shirts, danced to Ruby Tuesday,Ā and sang the dawn of the Age of Aquarius. I lived the taste of freedom — flower-child evenings, parties, the glow of Disneyland nights, the sweetness and ache of love. I was a spirit untethered, seeking to catch my dreams before they slipped away.

~ So why, then, would such a free soul step from the abandon of the 60s into the rigid, rule-bound world of the military? Why would I exchange beads for uniforms, open skies for narrow ranks, freedom for structure?

⭐ Because this was the paradox of my calling. My Oversoul — Akysia — knew that true freedom sometimes requires walking straight into what appears to deny it.

⭐ I joined the U.S. Navy not to lose freedom, but to seed it.Ā I was honored to be one of the W.A.V.E.S. — Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Service — a bridge between an old order and a new. One of the first to stay in the service, one of the first to bear children while enlisted, one of the first to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with men until equal rights and equal pay for women were no longer a dream but a reality.

⭐ I gave up the free-floating ā€œfreedomā€ of the 60s so that women who came after me could live true freedomĀ within the ranks. My service was not only to country, but to the Divine Feminine — carrying her quiet, steady flame into a male-dominated system, so it could begin to soften and evolve.

⭐ This is why my heart still leaps when I hear the National Anthem. This is why I stand when the Flag is raised. Because I am woven into it — my blood, my tears, my quiet labor. I amĀ part of that Flag. And yet, I will only kneel at the Cross of Yeshua, for His Love alone is worthy of my surrender.

⭐ The W.A.V.E.S. are gone now, replaced with a single name: Sailors. Men and women, side by side, equal in title, equal in honor. That shift, too, is part of the freedom I was called to anchor.

So yes, I was a free spirit in the 60s — and I am still free now. Because freedom is not always running wild. Sometimes freedom is the courage to walk into the structure, to give away your own liberties, so that generations to come may live them.

This is the hidden service of Akysia. This is the flame that stayed. šŸŒ¹šŸ”„

🌟 Reflection for You 🌟

Have you ever looked back at your life and seen the paradox — that the times you felt ā€œconfinedā€ were actually where your soul was doing its greatest work? Sometimes freedom is not escape, but embodiment. Sometimes it is not for you alone, but for those who will walk behind you.

🌟 With JOY and remebrance ~
